Wildflower Arts Centre Preschool Program

Your child will learn through a variety of indoor and outdoor activities that emphasize social, physical, creative, intellectual and emotional development with the guidance of experienced instructors.

Explore Wildflower Arts Centre

Wildflower Arts Centre is a warm and creative environment that will support your child’s unique learning experience. Our building has a preschool-dedicated classroom, art studios, a large studio for indoor play, in addition to an accessible playground and open greenspace right outside our doors.

Getting your child ready for success

We will help your child prepare for school while exploring and experiencing a variety of creative opportunities.

A day in our program at Wildflower preschool

A typical day in our preschool program includes free play, circle time, creative play, physical activity and snack time.

Free play time

Our tabletop play centers and other materials help your child explore their imagination, learn cooperation, and practice shapes, sizes, colors, numbers, language and motor skills.

Circle time

Children learn how to follow directions, work independently or in groups, gather information, connect stories to pictures and other valuable pre-reading skills.

Creative play time

Children explore creative movement and expression through interactive activities and games using music, instruments, props, and costumes. Creative play helps children learn self-expression, self-confidence, body awareness, gross motor skills, movement and rhythm.

Physical activity time

Preschoolers will develop the fundamental movement skills that all children need, such as running, hopping, throwing, catching and jumping.

Snack time

Our nut-free snack time promotes healthy eating by encouraging parents to send a small, nutritious food item and water bottle with their preschooler each day.

Weekly art lesson

Each week, children participate in a one-hour visual art lesson led by a professionally-trained, practicing artist. We explore a variety of art-making techniques while learning about two and three-dimensional mediums. Focus is on the art-making process and exploration of art and vocabulary.
