Ward 2 - Jennifer Wyness

December Newsletter

I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone in Ward 2 a wonderful holiday season as we embark towards the new year. With the prolonged challenges of the covid-19 pandemic and economic uncertainty through 2021, I hope that 2022 brings us all more time with our families and success in our endeavours.

I thank everyone for their support over the past year. Personally, I feel humbled and encouraged by the messages and discussions about representing you as Councillor for Ward 2. I recognize the possibilities we have in front of us to connect our communities.

We have seen an unprecedented change on our City Council in 2021. I have had the opportunity to meet all the Councillors and Mayor, and I can attest that they all have great ideas and a positive outlook for the future of Calgary. I am optimistic to see the changes Calgarians voted for. I am also very empathetic to the needs of those who feel their voices are not well represented on Council. It is important that we as a community find common ground to build the foundations of how we want our communities to grow. I have always been a proponent of small incremental changes and reviewing decisions to ensure our efforts are yielding the results that the community needs.

Thank you again for the opportunity to represent Ward 2. It is a great honour, and I look forward to listening to your concerns, working to resolve our differences, focusing on our similarities, and working hard to make sure we all feel our voices are heard at City Hall.

Best wishes to you and your family this holiday season, and all the best in the new year.
