Stampede Week: July 7-16, 2023

Aaaaand we’re off!

Starting today, the Calgary Stampede is kicking off 10 days of fun and excitement for the whole family.

This week started with a bang with the Stampede Parade, and we had an amazing turnout! It was so much fun seeing Calgarians and visitors line the streets to celebrate the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth. Kudos to the fantastic and talented performers who took part and made this morning special for everyone.

With so many exciting events happening this week, we’ve put together a handy guide for what to expect and how to get around the Stampede grounds. You won’t want to miss it!

The Stampede Parade was a huge success. We even got our own wagon!

Event schedule:

This week is going to be jam-packed with fun, excitement, and tons of tasty goodies! From the thrilling rides, pancake breakfasts, not to mention the unforgettable rodeo, there’s going to be something new to check out every day.

This Saturday, July 8, come on down to the Westside Rec Centre for a delicious pancake breakfast! Food will be served between 9:00 - 11:00 AM, so be sure to get there early!

After that, come on down to the Agriculture Building, where the Country Critters & Dairy Showcase has a fun-packed day planned for families with kids. Doors are open Saturday, July 8 between 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM.

If you want to enjoy the sights and learn more about Calgary's historic Stampede, visit Information and Guest Services, where they will be giving tours and a crash course on Chuckwagons 101. Tours are scheduled for 11:15 AM - 12:00 PM so make sure to plan ahead!

If you want to relax and put your feet up, be sure to come on by the Nutrien Western Event Centre on Sunday, July 9, for the Extreme Cowboy - Dog & Pony Show, from 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM. Watch as the furry competitors show off their skill and put on a paws-itively fantastic show!
