Fire Department Programs
The City of Calgary Fire Department offers a variety of programs that range from fire safety education to our Fire Cadet program. Below is a list of the programs we offer.

Resilient Responder Family Support program
**NEW** If you have a first responder in your life, learn to recognize the warning signs of mental stress by taking CFD’s Resilient Responder Family Support online course. It’s free, it’s informative and it could help you help someone you love!
The Fire Cadet Program gives high school students the opportunity to learn about what it takes to be a firefighter, through teaching life-skills like leadership, community involvement, teamwork, pride and respect.Learn more
Fire Safety Trailer and Education program
The Fire Safety Trailer and education program allows Calgary students to listen and learn about bedroom and kitchen fire safety. Students then practice the home emergency skills they just learned.Learn more
Home safety program
We have been visiting Calgary homes to share important fire safety information, inpect smoke alarms and if necessary replace batteries or alarms.Learn more
Youth Firesetter Intervention Referral & Education Service
The Y-FIRES program is for children ages 3 to 17 who have set fires or are drawn to playing with fire. Our free, confidential program educates them about fire safety and helps modify their fire setting behaviour.Learn more
