Golf course no-shows and penalties

At The City of Calgary Golf Courses there are a limited number of tee times available and a high demand for those times. The following policies are in place to accommodate those who truly wish to play and ensure golfers are accountable for their bookings.

Once a tee time has passed, it cannot be recreated or scheduled elsewhere. Please release unneeded reservations to allow others the opportunity to reserve a tee time.

If you are unable to cancel or or edit your reservation online, you can  contact the clubhouse within 3 hours of the reservation start time. Clubhouse phone numbers are listed here. For early morning tee times, staff are available to answer the phone 15 minutes before the first tee time of the day. A voicemail message can be left to notify staff when they are not available to answer the phone.

Cancel a tee time online

Tee time reservations can be booked, confirmed, cancelled, or edited online up until 3 hours prior to the start time of the reservation.

Log into your account Book tee time now, select ‘My Reservations’ to confirm, edit or cancel the reservation.

If you are unsure about how to change or cancel a booked tee time, please visit how to book a tee time page for additional information.

No-shows

A "no-show" is defined as failing to honour your tee time reservation.

A No-Show mark is applied to a reservation when the reservation is not checked-in as booked.

Examples:

  • Booking for 1 to 4 golfers and no one checks in
  • Checking in with fewer golfers than were booked

Golfers will receive an automated email notification when a No-Show mark is applied to a reservation.

No-show penalties

Three No-Show marks will result in the immediate suspension of access to the online reservation system for 14 days. Additional No-Shows may result in escalated suspensions up to and including seasonal/permanent blocks.  Penalties will be imposed at the discretion of golf administration.

When a golfer is suspended from the online reservation system, any future reservations will remain in place but must be edited or cancelled by calling the clubhouse.

Late check-in

All golfers must check in with the cashier a minimum of 15 minutes prior to your tee time. The time will be given to walk-on players should you check in less than 15 minutes in advance. This policy is enforced. To avoid disappointment, please check in well in advance.

Inclement weather

Weather patterns can vary across the City. Unless the course is closed, golfers are required to cancel a booking if they do not intend to check in, otherwise the reservation will be marked as a no show. Golfers are responsible for all reservations booked under their account.

Multiple bookings

Through The City of Calgary Tee Time Golf Reservation System, golfers may book a maximum of two tee times per day, regardless of location. This policy applies to all City of Calgary municipal golf courses.
