Farm stand program
The Farm Stand Program continues to grow and The City of Calgary is pleased to support bringing more locally and regionally grown food into more Calgary communities while providing support to our local farmers. The Farm Stand Program supports 9 incredible local and regional farmers and vendors.
Improving access to healthy food options is an important part of Calgary Eats!, our Food Action Plan.

Community impact
Community partners shared how the Farm Stand Program supports their neighbourhoods.
Talena Klypak, President for Coach Hill-Patterson Heights Community AssociationOur residents genuinely look forward to this program, as our nearest grocery stores are driving distance in different communities. The Farm Stand Program promotes knowledge of local fruits and vegetables, and it encouraged residents to walk to the stand and interact with each other, promoting social cohesiveness. The farm stand allowed seniors in our community who do not drive to have local access to fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat.
Andrea Trainor, Board Member for University Heights Community AssociationThe Farm Stand Program really resonated with residents, especially those who are older. The produce is incredibly fresh and very reasonably priced. It is also a gathering place for residents.
