Local area planning working groups meet a few times a year over a two-to-three-year period to evaluate and discuss potential locations for future housing and businesses, ways to improve mobility, parks and public spaces, and other possible community improvements.

School speaker sessions
Teachers in local area planning areas have the opportunity to invite The City Engagement Team into their classroom for an educational session about the planning process and how students can get involved. These sessions are brief and the team brings materials in for the students to take home and review further.
If you’re a teacher in a plan area and would like resources dropped off at your school, or for our team to present to your class in-person, email us at LAP@calgary.ca.

Feedback booklets and forms
Youth engagement booklets or forms are brought to classroom sessions and distributed at community engagement events. Through these booklets and forms we collect feedback about the best parts of the community where they live, work or go to school, and how the community should develop in the future.
