Calgarian research at The City of Calgary
Participate in City research
It's no secret that life is good in Calgary, but as Calgarians, we can all play our part to make this city even better. The City gathers opinions and views from Calgarians on a variety of topics and issues. Typically, research is conducted by telephone or online surveys, focus groups and interviews.
Here are some ways that you can provide your input:
Citizens’ View – Calgary’s Online Panel
What is Citizens’ View?
Citizens’ View is an online panel that provides Calgarians with an opportunity to participate in shaping City of Calgary programs and services by providing input through online surveys.
- Participate in surveys, approximately once or twice per month;
- Provide your valuable input on a variety of topics;
- Receive information and updates on the survey results.
The City’s responsibilities for protecting information are described in the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP Act). Read more about The City of Calgary, FOIP, and protecting your privacy.
Business Perspectives Panel

Additional ways to provide input into City programs and services
Participating in Citizens’ View and Business Perspectives are just a couple of ways to provide input to The City.
We also contact Calgarians by telephone or email to complete surveys or attend in person focus groups on specific topics. For these research activities, participants are selected at random to ensure we hear from a variety of Calgarians. If you get a call or an email, please take the time to provide your honest feedback.
There are also many public engagement opportunities for Calgarians to provide their thoughts and opinions on specific topics. To learn more, please visit Engage.Calgary.ca
