Holiday remembrance

Every winter holiday, The City of Calgary's Queen's Park Cemetery has three trees on display where family and friends can place a personal ornament or memento in memory of a loved one.

The City understands that for many this can be a very difficult time as we remember those who have passed on. We invite you to gather and reflect upon happy memories, and share warm wishes over the holiday season.

Where are the holiday trees located?

The three holiday remembrance trees are located at the Queen's Park Mausoleum at 3219 4 St. N.W., two on the main floor and one on the second floor.

Trees will be on display starting December 1 and ornaments can be placed between 9 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. daily. Current restrictions are in place to help stop the spread of COVID-19; therefore, a maximum of 10 visitors will be permitted inside the Mausoleum at one time.

Do I get the ornament back?

The remembrance trees will be taken down the first week in January. Anyone wishing to keep their ornament or memento can pick them up prior to the first Monday in January.

Other remembrance items

To adhere to current provincial restrictions, the Cemeteries Administration Office is closed and will not be offering holiday wreaths for the 2020 holiday season. Please check back for updates about holiday wreaths closer to the 2021 holiday season. Families are welcome to visit City cemeteries to place their own wreaths by a loved one’s grave site.
