Riley Communities Local Area Plan

The Riley Communities Local Area Plan (LAP) is a Council-approved policy document that sets the vision for growth and change in the Riley area. As a completed plan, it guides how land use, development, and investment will shape Riley’s neighbourhoods, including Sunnyside, Hillhurst, West Hillhurst and Hounsfield Heights/Briar Hill,  in the years ahead.

About the plan

The Riley Communities Local Area Plan was developed through extensive community engagement and technical review. It reflects the voices of residents, stakeholders, and City planners to ensure growth supports complete, connected, and sustainable communities.

The completed plan sets out a comprehensive vision for the Riley Communities alongside policies to guide new development and investment for the coming decades as it pertains to land use matters, mobility and sustainable growth.
