Planning Liaison Program

Planning Liaison Program

The Planning Liaison Program strives to foster stronger partnerships, mutual understanding, and effective communication between The City and community associations.

About the program

Communities across Calgary have their own local histories and characteristics. And the people in each community see different opportunities, challenges and priorities about how to grow and change over time.

Understanding this sort of local knowledge is an important part of The City’s new Planning Liaison Program. The program is intended to support community associations to be more effective participants in local planning and development projects.

Supporting community associations

A team of dedicated planning liaisons will help build the capacity of community associations to be more effective participants in planning and development processes by providing:

Partners in Planning (PIP)

The Partners in Planning program (PIP) is a free, award-winning certificate program offered in partnership by the Federation of Calgary Communities and The City of Calgary.

The Planning Liaisons will support the Partners in Planning program by supplying new and more robust offerings.

This program is attended by community association members, neighbours, students, and members of the development and building industry. Citizens are encouraged to network and learn about the planning and development process in Calgary.
