The City of Calgary is supporting citizens and businesses in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Council approved municipal property tax relief measures that support taxpayers facing financial hardship. The following pages contain important information you need to know as a residential or non-residential property owner seeking tax relief due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Important - calculating your property tax change

The change in your TIPP instalment in July is not equal to the change in your property tax. The best way to determine your yearly tax change is to compare your current and last year’s tax bill. Use our online calculator to determine your 2019-to-2020 tax change, or learn more at July-December TIPP-instalment-payments.

Tax Instalment Payment Plan (TIPP)

The Tax Instalment Payment Plan (TIPP) is a popular program that allows you to pay your property tax on a monthly basis instead of one payment in June.

Your payment automatically comes out of your chequing account the first day of every month. TIPP makes budgeting easier and eliminates the risk of a 7% late payment penalty.
