If you're enrolled in TIPP, here's everything you need to know about managing your agreement, from making changes to your account to understanding how missed payments are handled.

  • Payments are automatically deducted on the 1st of each month.
  • TIPP payments cannot be paused or skipped.
  • If you have multiple properties enrolled, payments are combined and withdrawn as a single transaction.
  • Lower your monthly instalment by making a lump sum payment. Call us to recalculate your instalments after payment, as this won’t happen automatically.

As a TIPP participant you will still be sent your annual property tax bill each May. This is not a payment request. It is for informational purposes only. It will include:

  • The total tax amount due for the year, covering the period from January 1 to December 1.
  • TIPP payments made so far.
  • The remaining balance to be paid.
  • The regular instalment due on June 1.
  • The updated payment amount starting July 1.

Make changes to your TIPP account

Change your bank information

If you're switching bank accounts or need to update your banking details for TIPP:

  • Submit banking change request before the 22nd of the month.
  • If you miss the deadline, your old bank account will be charged, and returned payments will incur fees. You’ll need to pay the missed instalment and fees.
  • Print the confirmation screen for your records. No email confirmation will be sent.

Important: Double-check your banking details before submitting to avoid penalties or cancellation.

Buying a property

  • Join TIPP for your new property before the 22nd of the month.
  • Use the correct roll number, as each property has a unique one.

Your TIPP agreement is tied to the property, not the person, so it doesn’t follow you if you move.

Selling a property

  • Cancel TIPP for the property you sold before the 22nd of the month.
  • If you miss the cancelation deadline, your next payment will still be withdrawn.
  • Print the confirmation screen after submitting your cancellation request. No email will be sent.

You will need your property 9-digit roll number found on all property tax documents.

Can’t find your roll number? Contact Property Tax to request your roll number before completing the form.

Cancel TIPP

  • Cancel before the 22nd of the month.
  • If you miss the deadline, your account will still be charged the next payment.
  • Once canceled, all unpaid taxes are due immediately, and penalties will apply since the tax is overdue. Call us to find out your outstanding balance.

If you prefer to cancel in person or by mail, submit your written request by the 22nd of the month before the next payment withdrawal.

You will need your property 9-digit roll number found on all property tax documents.

Can’t find your roll number? Contact Property Tax to request your roll number before completing the form.

NOTE: When you have successfully submitted your cancellation request, the screen will display a success message. Print this screen for your records. You will not receive an email confirmation.

Own multiple properties or a condo?

Join TIPP for each property using its unique roll number. For condos, each separate titled space (e.g., living space, parking, storage) has its own roll number and is treated as an individual property.

Can't find your bill? Your TIPP payments will continue as scheduled. Make sure your mailing address is up to date. You can view or request a copy of your bill using myTax.

Missed, returned, or late-payment penalties

If your TIPP payment is returned or rejected by your bank there is a service charge, and we won't attempt a second withdrawal. You'll be at risk of TIPP agreement cancellation, and unapid taxes are due immediately, with penalties. Learn more about missed or returned TIPP payments.
