Under the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA), an individual who believes there is an error or omission in their personal information may request that The City correct the information.

Important: Under POPA, The City may only correct factual information and must not correct an opinion, including a professional or expert opinion. 

You can submit a request to correct your own personal information. You may submit a request for another individual’s personal information if you have the authority to act on behalf of that person. 

Please be specific in your request and provide as much detail as possible, including:

• The specific records you want to correct.
• The City business units and/or departments that you believe have the records to be corrected.
• The specific time period for the records you are requesting correction of. 

Costs associated with requests to correct personal information 
There is no fee for a request to correct personal information.
