Heather Domzal
Title: Chief of Staff to the City Manager
Areas of focus: As the Chief of Staff to the City Manager at The City of Calgary, Heather provides strategic advice to the City Manager and the Executive Leadership Team in their efforts to provide 1.3 million Calgarians with high quality, affordable services.
Career history: Heather is an accomplished business strategist and communications professional with experience in the private and public sectors. During her time with The City of Calgary, Heather has provided strategic counsel to three City Managers and contributed to several significant municipal projects, including the COVID-19 pandemic response, 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Bid, and the $100 million Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund.
Heather has a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Communication from Royal Roads University, a Diploma in Journalism Arts from SAIT Polytechnic, and several certificates in Organizational Change Management (Mount Royal University), Professional Management (University of Calgary), and Municipal Leadership (York University). She is currently completing her Master in Business Administration in Executive Management through Royal Roads University.
