Important information:
- If you think you are paying PIT but your mortgage holder’s name isn’t on your bill, contact them immediately to register their interest with The City.

You can’t pay your property tax directly to The City with a credit card. However, some third-party providers in Canada offer this service.
Important Considerations:
- We do not endorse any third-party providers. You’ll need to research and select one yourself.
- Late payments due to third-party delays will result in penalties. Ensure adequate time for your payment to be processed and received prior to the deadline.

Is my property tax payment included in my mortgage?
When you have a mortgage, your property tax might be part of your monthly payments. If it’s not included, you’ll need to pay it separately. It’s best to ask your lender to make sure you know how to pay your property tax.
Where can I find my roll number to confirm I’m paying to the right account?
Every property has its own unique 9-digit roll number. Find the roll number on your assessment notice, property tax bill, or statement of account.
You can also find it online:
- Visit myTax.
- Under Public Access, click Search, and accept the Terms of Use.
- Search by address to find the property.
- Select the checkbox beside the property address.
- Click Export Selected Property Report.
- Open the downloaded report to find the roll number at the top
What happens if I make a payment to the wrong roll number?
A $25 fee will be charged if we need to correct payments made to the wrong roll number or an invalid account. If we are unable to redirect the payment to the correct account, it will be returned to the issuing financial institution.
Can I pay in U.S. funds?
You can pay in U.S. funds from an American bank. The exchange rate on the deposit date will apply. If the payment is insufficient due to exchange rate fluctuations or bank fees, penalties will apply to any unpaid tax.
