Golf course policies

By following these policies, you help build and foster a community where everyone feels they belong.

No children under four

For everyone’s safety, children under four are not allowed on City of Calgary golf courses or driving ranges, even in strollers or car seats. There are no exceptions.

Group play

  • Each tee time can include up to four golfers.
  • To help support fair access and course flow, staff may adjust pairings or tee‑off order when needed.
  • Paying for unused spots to keep a group private is not permitted since it limits access for other golfers.

Standards of respectful conduct

We’re proud to offer spaces where everyone can feel safe and welcome. Any form of verbal or physical abuse toward staff or others will not be tolerated.

Alcohol

Only alcohol purchased on-site is allowed. Outside alcohol is not permitted and will be removed. Guests who do not follow this policy and violate it may be asked to leave the course.

Dress code

Our golf courses are casual and welcoming. While collared shirts aren’t required, we ask all golfers to wear respectful, non-revealing clothing.

Suggestions for what to wear:

  • Comfortable pants, capris, skirts, dresses or shorts with pockets.
  • Stretchy shirts for easy movement.
  • A jacket or pullover for changing weather.
  • Golf shoes (soft spikes), running shoes or other soft-soled shoes.

Pace of play

A steady pace of play means less waiting, smoother rounds, and more chances for all players to get out and play.

  • Pace of Play can vary, especially during busy periods. We make every effort to maintain pace of play, but it can’t be guaranteed.
  • First Tee Greeters/Course Ambassadors monitor play using standard time guidelines.

If play falls behind, Course Ambassadors:

  • Will remind groups to pick up the pace.
  • Ask Golfers to play ready golf* to help keep play moving smoothly.
  • May ask a group to skip a hole when needed to restore flow.

If a group continues to fall behind after multiple reminders, staff may move the group ahead or end the round to reduce delays for other golfers.

Pace‑of‑play issues and the steps taken are documented and reviewed to support fair and consistent course management so everyone can enjoy the game.

*Ready golf means playing when you’re ready, rather than strictly following whose turn it is — as long as it’s safe to do so.

Payments and refunds

Golfers must check in before heading out on the course.

  • Payment for green fees and rentals is required before you play.
  • Only one discount or promotional rate may be used per round. Discounts cannot be combined.
  • Refunds are available before tee-off only.

Cancellations and no-shows

When everyone manages their bookings on time, it makes it easier for all golfers to find tee times during current busy periods. So, if your plans change, make sure to update or cancel your tee time.

  • Tee time changes or cancellations can be made online at least 24 hours in advance. For changes/cancellations within 24 hours, call the clubhouse.
  • Reservations not cancelled or updated prior to 24 hours may be recorded as a no show.
  • No-shows are monitored and reviewed to help improve tee time availability and inform future policy improvements.
  • Repeat no-shows may result in temporary or permanent booking restrictions.
  • A golfer is responsible for all tee times booked under their specific account.

Discounts and photo identification

To take advantage of your promotional offers or other discounts (i.e. PrePay7, Game Changer, junior or senior rates, etc.), make sure to bring valid photo ID and show it at check-in.

Rain checks

Rain checks may be offered when weather or course conditions prevent completing a round.

  • Rain check value is based on the holes left to be played and the green fee amount paid. This includes regular green fees, promotional offer rates, senior and junior rates, twilight, power cart rentals, and fee assistance.
  • Rain checks do not apply to slow play or stopping early by choice, or delays caused by other golfers.
  • Fee Assistance rounds are deducted at check-in and are non-refundable after tee-off. Rain checks only apply to the paid part.
  • Rain checks require proof of purchase.
  • Rain checks for the 2026 season expire on Oct. 31, 2026.
  • Rain checks are not available for driving range use.

Club rentals

All rental clubs must be returned to the clubhouse after your round to avoid penalties.

Weather

Since weather can change, golfers can decide whether to play or cancel if conditions are unsafe*.

If The City of Calgary determines the course is unplayable, cancellations will be automatic and penalty free.

*Your safety comes first. If weather turns unsafe (especially if there’s lightning), stop play immediately. Golfers are responsible for their own safety during changing weather conditions. Always use your best judgment and take appropriate action if conditions become hazardous.
