The Calgary Awards
Overview
In 1994, The City of Calgary established The Calgary Awards to celebrate and recognize outstanding achievements and contributions made by Calgarians. Each year, individuals, corporations, community groups, and organizations are nominated in five major award categories, for a total of 13 awards.

2025 Calgary Awards news
The City of Calgary W.O. Mitchell Book Prize Submissions accepted September 3 to December 1, 2025.
The 32nd Annual Calgary Awards nominations are accepted between Dec. 31, 2025 to January 2026.
The Calgary Awards will be hosting weekly workshops on how to submit a strong nomination on Jan. 6, 9, 13, and 20. To sign up for a workshop, email calgaryawards@calgary.ca and you will receive a link.
