Responding to an Assessment Request for Information (ARFI)
We regularly request detailed property information to prepare market value assessments. These are sent in the form of an Assessment Request for Information (ARFI). ARFIs are sent throughout the year to non-residential and multi-residential property owners (or their authorized property managers).
We may ask for property details, market information, sales data, and more.
By responding, you can expect to:
- Receive an accurate assessment by keeping your property information current.
- Know you’re paying the right amount of property tax.
- Get a reliable preliminary assessment for Pre-Roll.
Privacy assurance: Your information is confidential and only disclosed as required by law.
How to complete an ARFI
Most requests for non-residential property information can be responded to through Assessment Search.
ARFIs for the following property types need to be submitted by email to assessmentARFI@calgary.ca, mail, or In-person.
- Multi-residential
- Farmland
- Hotel/Motels
- Airports
- Golf Courses
- Manufactured Home Parks
If you’re not sure if you can submit your ARFI online, review the original request you received which outlines the submission options for your property.

Do I have to respond to an ARFI?
It’s important to respond to any information requests we send you by the specified deadline. If you don’t, you risk losing the right to challenge your property’s assessed value for the next year.*
