This Web service identifies all development permit, land use amendment, or subdivision applications that have been received by Development & Building Approvals.

T​he site is updated every Tuesday and provides application information for the preceding week.

October 2015 saw a significant inflow of building permit applications, particularly for apartments, compared to October 2014. This is attributable to applicants applying before November 1, 2015 when the new 2014 Alberta Building Code came into effect.

How to read statement

  • No. permits = the number of permits for each project (NOT number of units that will be created)
  • No. R/U = the number of residential units that will be created from one permit
  • The statement has four columns. The first two are “this year” broken up into “this period (or month)” and “year to date”. The last two columns are “last year” broken up into “this period (or month)” and “yeat to date".
