Occupational Health and Safety Policy

About the policy

The City is committed to providing a workplace that is safe for both physical and mental health. We do this through our Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Management System. The system includes the Occupational Health and Safety Policy.

Keeping people safe at work is a shared responsibility. It takes leadership and active participation from everyone. Employees at all levels need to understand the OHS Policy. This helps make health and safety part of daily work, safety meetings, and training and orientation.

Employee responsibilities

All employees are responsible for:

  • Keeping themselves and others safe, including co-workers, contractors, and volunteers.
  • Understanding and meeting their health and safety roles.
  • Following OHS laws and The City’s health and safety standards and guidelines.

This policy aligns with The City’s Code of Conduct.
