Landfill and Eco Centre hours and locations in Calgary
The City of Calgary has three landfill and Eco Centre sites where you can take residential waste, commercial waste, hazardous chemicals and some recyclables.

Residential customers
The Eco Centres are a convenient way to recycle, reuse and dispose of your old and unwanted household items. They accept a wide range of items you can't dispose of in your carts at home.

Business and Commercial customers
Businesses and commercial waste haulers can take advantage of our commercial waste disposal options as well as yard waste composting and recycling options for some materials.
Industrial waste is only available at the Shepard Landfill location.

Procedures and rates
The City of Calgary is committed to providing a safe and respectful workplace for all employees and customers. Physical or verbal abuse will not be tolerated.
Waste loads must be tarped and secure to prevent littering. Please see Site Requirements for additional procedures when visiting a City landfill and Eco Centre.
A minimum charge is applied to all loads unless otherwise specified. Landfill loads are charged by weight and type of material. Please refer to the Residential rates page or the Commercial rates page for more information.
City load acceptance conditions
All loads entering City waste management facilities must meet applicable acceptance requirements. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure materials comply with applicable regulations and facility requirements before arriving on site. Review accepted materials and disposal options before visiting a City waste management facility.
- All loads are subject to inspection to verify compliance with landfill and Eco Centre requirements.
- All loads containing prohibited, hazardous, or Disposal Surcharge materials are subject to surcharges, load rejection, or refusal of entry.
- City staff have final authority regarding load acceptance, load type and applicable charges.
Repeated failure to comply with acceptance conditions or directions from City staff may result in additional enforcement measures, including restrictions on access to City waste management facilities.
